    • The good:
very portable and outdoor-friendly, improved battery life, large memory capacity, economical
    • The bad:
outdated connection options, limited HD video playback, low quality audio output
The Asus Eee PC1015PX N570 doesn’t stray too far from the old strengths of its previous versions. In fact, it does have a striking resemblance to some of its predecessors both internally and externally, but then again, big technological advances aren’t quite a trend in netbooks these days. It comes with the Asus signature matte finish clamshell case that is fairly resistant to pressure, dust and smudge. With dimensions of 36.4mm x 262mm x 178mm and a weight of less than 1.3 kilograms, this 10-incher is definitely a netbook for people on the go. Users may also find the 1015PX quite an outdoor buddy. Its anti-glare matte display, coupled with its decent brightness levels enables users to browse, type and play out in the open. However, reflected light from the glossy black screen bezel can be quite a distraction. HD video and audio playback will also prove to be a less than spectacular experience. Connectivity-wise, the 1015PX somewhat lags behind its other 1015 series counterparts. While the other models come with USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI output, the 1015PX only has three USB 2.0 connections and a VGA output for analog display signals. Some users may also find the two USB ports on the righthandright-hand side of the unit a little bit troublesome, speciallyespecially when using larger USB plugs since these two are placed too close to each other which is probably a downside of its very compact interface. Like most netbooks, the 1015PX is LAN and WLAN compliant which allows for both wired and wireless internet connections but lacks the necessary modem for 3G, Bluetooth and UMTS connections. But if there’s any reason why anyone would buy the Asus Eee PC1015PX N570, it would be its battery life. Equipped with an Intel Atom N570 processor, which is known for its efficient energy consumption, the 1015PX can outlast, and possibly, outperform most of the competition. And to make the deal even sweeter, Asus throws in a 320GB-gross mass storage capacity, which is bigger than what most netbooks can offer. All in all, the Asus Eee PC1015PX N570, with an average price of about 320 USD, doesn’t offer anything phenomenal. But with its strengths and features geared towards portability and battery life, as far as netbooks go, the 1015PX has the makings of a very reliable and useful mobile companion.
