Canon PIXMA iP4950 Review
It is no secret that the world is becoming more and more paperless with never-ending innovations in the digital world. Despite this reality, paper is far from being out of fashion, as it is still widely used in all sorts of establishments for transactions and what not.
It follows therefore that printers remain relevant up to this day. Gone are the days that consumers are content with basic printing. Today, it is becoming more and more sophisticated. It is commendable therefore that Canon has been continuously coming up with improved variations of printer. One of its best is the Canon PIXMA iP4950. The Canon PIXMA iP4950 is a real performer. It is the ideal printer both for regular family use and more extensive use in professional environments. By incorporating Full HD Movie Print, Easy-PhotoPrint EX and Auto Duplex Print and coming up with a solid printing performance, it is not surprising that it is one of the best inkjet printers in the market.
Furthermore, it comes in a relatively inexpensive price. However, it is not as perfect as it seems to be. The neat and seemingly unobtrusive design of the Canon PIXMA iP4950 is actually deceptive. Looking at it carefully, you will notice that loading A4 paper in the front-mounting paper cassette makes it stick out by over 80mm. It is quite unnoticeable however because it is thoughtfully hidden by the fold down and pull-out output tray found directly above it when printing. If you are not that familiar with the printing process, it is unusual for regular printers to employ twin paper sources. Another feature of the Canon PIXMA iP4950 that deserves a thumb up is its support of direct printing on CD and DVD discs.
This is done through a disc carrier located at the front side of the machine. The design of the Canon PIXMA iP4950 is highly manageable. The two controls are found at the right edge of the printer that have understandable icons to guide users. Changing ink cartridges proves to be easy too once you have familiarized yourself with the setup. Another key feature of the Canon PIXMA iP4950 is the iP4950?s HD Movie Print. For Canon camera users, this is a welcoming feature as allows easy scanning of video and prints to produce wonderful stills.
However, other cameras are not supported. In addition, the Canon PIXMA iP4950 features duplex printing to save paper as much as possible. The main downside of the Canon PIXMA iP4950 however is the speed. You have to prolong your patience as it takes longer than usual when printing graphics-heavy materials. To make up for this, one may simply look at the fine prints because images are really detailed and color accuracy is commendable. For regular text on blank ink on the other hand, it does a perfectly fine job.
