Fitbit Surge Review
The Fitbit Surge is one of the best activity monitoring bands that you will come across in the near future. With Built –in GPS for outdoor activity monitoring and an excellent app which syncs easily, the Fitbit Surge is the best activity monitoring devices that I have come across. The variety of activities that you can track using the surge is unlimited. If you want to add new activities such as weight lifting, yoga or hiking, you don’t have to struggle, just add the new activity and the Surge will do the rest. Moreover, it offers heart rating monitoring and alerts you when there is a text or a phone call when you are away from your phone.
As you would expect, there are few things that the guys at the Fitbit headquarters could have improved. First of all, the Fitbit Surge seems a bit bulky and isn’t waterproof. You will also realize that its push notifications are limited. Even worse, the battery life is below average especially when you are on GPS. It also comes with its own unique charger and that means that you can’t use a charger from a different Fitbit device.
The Fitbit Surge as you would expect is a good performer as Fitbit already have a name for themselves in the fitness world. Since 2011, they have been in the business and it seems they have been doing their research very well. You will be looking forward to a sophisticated touch screen wristwatch. This small beauty does not only track your sleep patterns and steps, it does something better such as alerting you when you have new text messages and incoming calls. It also comes with an optional in built heart rate monitor for the fitness enthusiast. Runners will also enjoy it’s built in GPS which comes in handy when running outdoors.
The Fitbit Surge is an update that deserves to be called an ‘upgrade’. It does really well as compared to the Company’s own Charge and Flex models. Although it’s pricier than the two aforementioned models, its price is easily justifiable as it comes with some pricier components as well. If you want to upgrade yourself as well, it’s only logic to go for an upgraded fitness wearable and in this case the Fitbit Surge.
The Fitbit Surge isn’t the perfect smartwatch, athlete wristwatch or activity tracker. However, in this world, there is nothing that is perfect but if you are looking for something that comes close, then the Surge is the best bet. The Surge is part activity tracker, part runner’s wrist watch and part smart watch. The Surge won’t do a lot for you but it’s an easy to use device and consistently reliable. When compared to other activity trackers, it’s one of the elite few only being rivaled by Mio Fuse and Basis Peak.
All in all fitness enthusiasts have themselves a great device that not only tracks their activities but also works as a smart watch. The Fitbit Surge can still use some tweaking but so far, it’s the best activity tracker to grace the face of the earth.
