GoPro Offers Value with Silver

The Best:

The GoPro Hero 7 Silver is a 4K capable device with 1440p @ 60FPS and 1080p @60FPS. It is able to capture 10MP photos and 15 FPS, ensuring that you can get those high detailed sequence shots for action sports, without breaking the bank. It has built in video stabilization, and now has a vertical portrait mode for social media. The camera itself has waterproof capabilities up to 33’ of water before you need a housing.

The Bugs:

There are no real bugs with the device, save for a few small things that some users that already own a GoPro device might find to be a little less than pleasing. If you already own a 6 series camera, then there are not going to be too many differences in the hardware, which might make some wonder if it is indeed worth the upgrade.

Is it for you?

This is a camera for you if you are looking for a reasonably priced camera with some of the features that you would have only found on a high end action camera just a few years ago.

Meet the GoPro Hero 7 Silver

The GoPro Hero 7 Silver is a very capable device, and while it is not the best that GoPro currently has to offer, it is still very good. It is capable of shooting 10MP photos with HDR, and can take video at 30FPS at 4K. The battery is still built in, and is now waterproof without a housing. It has standard video stabilization, which is not as good as the Black 7’s Hypersmooth but it still works really well.   

What we like

The way that the camera takes high quality video and photographs, combined with its stabilization and waterproofing makes this a winner for any action sports fans that need to get up close and personal with the action, without spending a fortune.

The silver also includes auto offload capabilities, so you can transfer footage over to your phone, as well as 2x slow motion. It also has GPS and QuickStories that help you to share more details about your video clips and camera shots. 

As with most GoPro models, the Silver comes with a good battery and it is enough to last you through your sessions while filming. The revamped user interface also works really well as it feels more like a smart phone than a camera in some ways.

What we don’t like

If you are into sporting and action shooting, then this camera does not disappoint in many areas. It looks good, works well, and has some really impressive features for the price point.

Should you buy it?

If you enjoy taking water based photos, don’t mind getting dirty, or if you have a penchant for speed, then the GoPro Hero 7 Silver is a worthy choice for most people. GoPro revolutionized the action camera scene all those years ago with the original GoPro cameras, and they continue to do so with their latest creations.
