GoPro Hero 8 Black Review
The 3-Minute GoPro Hero 8 Black Review
The Action Camera that Goes Beyond Next Level

The specifics
Features & Design: 4/5 | Performance: 4/5 | Value: 4/5 | Battery Life: 4/5
While on the surface things might not have changed much for the GoPro Hero 8 as it still is as rugged as ever, but that is where it ends. The water-resistant has been bumped up to being completely waterproof down to a staggering 10 meters.
The Hero 8 still uses the GoPro App that automatically creates edits making them fun and easy to share. The other cool new feature is the voice command prompts allowing you to be hands-free.
The best
GoPro Hero 8 Black has you fully modded out with all the modular attachments. Just add some lights, mics and extra screens to your Hero 8 to suit whatever you need on your adventure.
Digital lenses for on the go change of view chose from any one of the four options: Narrow, distortion-free linear, wide-angle and super view. The hyper smooth 2.0 enhancement gives you multiple levels of stabilization, due to the in-app horizon levelling.

The bugs
Some might find the lack of mics on the hero 8 a bit lacking as the GoPro Max has 6 microphones for that full audio surround sound. The Hero 8 only has 12MP photo quality whereas the Max has 16MP.
Is it for you?
There are a lot of features onboard the Hero 8 that are noteworthy but put simply if you are looking for an upgrade from the Hero 7 this is the correct choice. As the Hero 8 offers you live burst images, long-lasting removable batteries and has frameless mounting. All the good makings of a rugged on the go camera for the outdoor enthusiasts and adrenalin junkies.
What we like
The small size of the GoPro has always been one of the best parts of the GoPro brand and the Hero 8 Black as the brand's new flagship lives up to its predecessors and the brand name in that aspect and throws in a bunch new and improved features like Live Burst giving you that 1.5 seconds before and after your still shots to give you the choice of 3 images giving you a much higher chance of always getting that perfect still shot, modular designed attachments giving you the freedom to adapt to the need of the moment, the amazing Hyper Smooth 2.0 stabilization making even the most wild ride look like a smooth walk in the garden.

What we don’t like
The GoPro is the iconic brand that it makes it very hard to find drawbacks. If there are any shortcomings it might just be the lack of on-screen/on-camera support, there is the app that has all the settings and features on it but if you are not around your phone this will make it hard to change settings.
Should you buy it?
If you enjoy getting the best, you possibly can out of an action camera then look no further. The Hero 8 is fit for purpose with Time Warp 2.0 giving you amazing time-lapse video and follows the speed that you move at keeping everything smooth and seaming less.
The improved electronics and features that now ship with the hero 8 are the four digital lenses, the ability to capture in RAW photos in all modes. There even is the Night lapse video or have fun with the Slo-Mo feature. For those Vlogging and live streamers the Hero 8 comes with 1080P live stream capabilities.
