Motorola Moto G7 Review
The best budget Smartphone in the market
Features & Design: 4/5 ● Performance: 4/5 ● Value: 4/5 ● Sound Quality 3/5
Motorola Moto G7 is company’s newly launched phone of G series that has a big screen of 6.2 inches with a resolution of 2270 x 1080. G7 offers an enhanced screen view with its teardrop-style edge-to-edge notch display which gives it a stylish look. Under all conditions, the G7 provides you vivid image whichever way the phone is being held. The gadget shows a brightness peak of 445 nits. In addition, the king of budget phone offers a full HD+ resolution and a metal body with front and back glass does give it a very premium high-end phone look.
One bad news about G7 is for people who want to buy the US version as it lacks the NFC. A shocking thing is that all European versions of G7 phones have it. So those living in the US have to say bye to Google Pay contactless payment feature if they buy Motorola Moto G7. Though NFC has to be a standard phone feature nowadays, it is by no means a deal breaker.
Is it for you?
You will definitely love the great premium looking G7 phone has a bigger screen that comes with a powerful processor. Furthermore, it is a very reliable Smartphone that works really well and is offered at such an affordable price that one wouldn't miss. 6 inches above IPS LCD screen stands out on its own.
What we like
The Moto G7 comes with full-packed features of high-end phones. What makes us a big fan of this G7 is the screen size offering a screen-to-body ratio of 81%, perfect for watching movies and web browsing with HD resolution. The sleek design of G7 is no less; glass back and front with metal edges also provides a firmer grip. The dual rear cameras are 12 and 5 megapixels having f/1.8 aperture lens with depth sensors. With a droplet notch display, the 8 MP front camera takes great shots and sharp selfies even in low light.
This phone may not be totally waterproof but what's great news is that G7 is dust and water resistance with a water repellent nano-coating (P2i). We also like that Motorola didn’t exclude the USB-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack which are user’s preference. It also has a fingerprint sensor which provides easy phone unlocking. The Qualcomm 632 Snapdragon 1.8GHz octa-core processor, Android 9.0 Pie operating system with 4GB RAM makes G7 fast, smooth and better in performance. Storage options are really good; 64 GB internal storage with a 512 GB expandable SD card memory.
What we don’t like
Despite having a Wi-Fi 802.11 a/n connectivity, G7 connects slowly to 4G while on Wi-Fi. Some signal outages have also been experienced. Another thing that makes it less practical is the 3,000 mAh battery which offers a runtime of 8.5 hours battery life. This may be satisfactory for average phone users but for phone addicts, this battery time may not be a good option. We didn’t like the lack of NFC feature. The G7 is designed for gaming as 3DMark graphics of G7 are a bit average.
Should you buy it?
If you are looking for a new phone but on a tight budget, then Moto G7 is the right choice. Your every penny will be worth it because the custom motion controls of Motorola are the best thing you'll discover on Android. Moreover, there are several features that make this budget-friendly device stand out like 6.2 large screen, 405ppi pixel density and dual rear cameras.
