OnePlus 6T Review
The 3-Minute OnePlus 6T Review
Hi-Tech Smartphone with Great Cameras
By Graeme Messina | December 15, 2018
Features & Design: 4/5 ● Performance: 4/5 ● Value: 4/5 ● Battery Life 4/5
The OnePlus 6T is the company’s latest flagship smartphone, and it features a rebooted redesign aesthetic, along with a vibrant AMOLED display panel. The top notch is much smaller than what most other companies are doing, giving it a unique look, which may or may not be to your liking. The overall display size is 6.41” and has a max resolution of 2,340x1,080. The display’s aspect ratio is 19.5:9 and has 402ppi.
The biggest bad news here is that OnePlus has done away with the headphone jack for this device. There are many great Bluetooth headphones out there, true, but this will be a big decision making factor that you will need to consider before buying this phone. If you are ok with there being no headphone jack, then this phone is likely to be a great choice.
Is it for you?
It is hard to imagine many people that wouldn’t fall in love with the design of this phone and its clever selfie camera mechanism. The screen size, lack of a notch and very small bezels make this a phone that is great for watching movies and videos.

There are many other great features to like about this device, one of which is the internal components that this phone ships with. The phone configurations come with 6GB, 8GB and 10GB versions of RAM, and a Qualcomm SDM845 chipset. This makes for a really nippy smartphone experience that is very fast indeed.
What we like
We really like this device because the size of the screen is exactly the right size for modern day applications such as web browsing and messaging. There are some other great features like the built in cameras that ship with the OnePlus 6T. The rear main camera is a Sony IMX 519, which is a ½.6” sensor that captures images at 16MP.
The secondary rear camera is a 20MP sensor that is capable of capturing 2160p video at 60fps, 1080p at 240fps and 720p at 480fps. The front facing camera is a 16MP sensor that is capable of capturing stunning selfies at 16MP and videos at 1080p and at 30fps. We also like the RAM and storage options that come with these phones 6/8GB of RAM and 128/256GB internal storage options are available.
What we don’t like
Probably the biggest feature that should have been kept was the headphone jack. Manufacturers are looking to follow Apple with many of their design decisions, such as the utilization of a screen notch, and now the headphone jack removal. All this does is make the device that much less practical for the average user to listen to music, videos and other media on a daily basis.
Should you buy it?
If you absolutely need to have the latest device with the most cutting edge features, then this could be a great choice for you. There are several things that make this flagship device stand out against its competitors, such as the unique notch shape and the 2.5D Gorilla Glass 6 display protection. Most people might not like the fact that the earphone jack is no longer a feature on this flagship device, but if you have a decent set of Bluetooth headphones then you will be none the poorer for it.
