Samsung Galaxy Buds Review

The 3-Minute Samsung Galaxy Buds Review

Next generation Galaxy Buds. Not just great for listening, amazing for being heard too.

By Graeme Messina | 1 May 2019

The Specifics:

Features & Design: 4/5 ● Performance: 4/5 ● Value: 3/5 ● Sound Quality 4/5

The Best:

The Galaxy Buds are the latest in wireless headsets from Samsung. They are available in three colors; white, black and yellow. There slim fit design makes it a comfortable choice and with the wireless charging case being perfect pocket fit.

The Bugs:

The Galaxy buds have downsized a lot of features so that the buds can be smaller and light weight making them more comfortable for long periods of use. This means the buds are missing a few things previous versions had such as the internal storage. They also don’t have as big of a motion gesture control, this was done so that the buds would fit better in the ear and be worn longer.

Is it for you?

Samsung Galaxy Buds have dropped substantially in size compared to other wireless buds on the market. The reduced size allows for comfortable extended listening without ear fatigue, thus making for an easy long wearing wireless headphone set. The size allows for reduced accidental touches and really fits snug in the ear so that they don’t dislodge.

What we like

The Samsung Galaxy Buds have great battery life (six hours per charge). Small sweatproof design gives a comfortable fit, with multiple wings and tips available. These wing tips fit well into the folds of your ear making them fit well and with them being water resistant really helps when working out with them as you don’t have to worry about sweat destroying them. These buds are capable of good sound and strong voice recording as it not only uses your voice but vibrations from your mandible. The sensors in the buds are excellent at telling if they in your ear or in your hand.

What we don’t like

Perhaps the wireless charging could do with some work as you may find it extremely slow and not as efficient as the c-type charger that you can just plug into the case. The buds don’t have active noise canceling, but they do block a fair amount of outside noise by forming a seal in your ears. The sound quality does lack somewhat when comparing it to other high-end Bluetooth headphones.

Should you buy it?

If keeping you connected is what you need these are the right wireless buds for you as they last for a long time on a single charge. They are small and slim fitting which makes them easy to wear. They are water resistant making them a good tool for heavy workout sessions without you needing to worry about sweat getting into them. Using the app makes theses buds really shine as it allows you to set them up to your preferences. All round good value for money.
