Symantec Norton Internet Security 2014 OEM Review
The new and improved Norton Internet Security System is a one-stop-shop for your entire computer or laptop security needs. Complete with a maintenance check, easy on/off button and antivirus software, this system has all you could need.
Norton’s Anti-Virus Protection software is designed to quickly and safely scan your device for any current viruses or systems that may eventually cause viruses. The Anti-Virus Protection system is backed by the Norton Power Eraser and the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool in order insure all bugs get fixed and systems get properly rebooted. Norton’s Internet Security 2014 OEM system successfully protects your device from all malware attacks. The system did not flag any reliable and legitimate software as dangerous, like many Internet security systems do. On the minor downside, opening and installing programs while the 2014 Symantec Norton Security system is running is difficult as the programs will lag.
As far as installation goes, the process is quick and easy. However, you must uninstall any anti-virus programs you already have on your device or Norton’s 2014 Internet Security system will not run. This should not be too much of a problem though because Norton actually detects non-compatible anti-virus software as their program is installing. This way, you can uninstall those programs during the Norton installation process. You do have to restart your computer once you uninstall the non-compatible programs or Norton will not run properly.
Designed around the new Windows 8 software, Norton’s 2014 Internet Security system blends perfectly and doesn’t appear too technologic. The system uses large, obvious buttons instead of the pervious small checkboxes, making the process of figuring out what needs or has been removed much easier. Upon installation, users are shows four large screens. The four screens are labeled scanning, status (green if protected and red if unprotected), updating malware software and advanced settings. Norton also provides several links to its other products for further security.
The settings screen can be a little difficult to understand. It was clearly designed for the pros who know exactly what they are doing and not for the newbies who are just trying to avoid their computer malfunctioning. Norton does offer help boxes next to each function, but understanding them can still be difficult if you don’t have a handbook or Internet access available to you. Overall, Norton’s 2014 OEM Internet Security system offers seamless protection along with innovative, high-tech features such as being compatible with touchscreen devices. The system is worth the money.
